In memory of Penelope Luna

On Friday 9th June at 4:08pm Carla and Ryan welcomed the fourth Stanworth princess into their family. Born at home, Penelope Luna weighed 7lb 12.5oz and completed their family. Unfortunately due to feeding problems, Penelope Luna spent 5 weeks in the NICU while Ryan and Carla dutifully spent their time split between the hospital and home. After those tough 5 weeks, Penelope was discharged and the family were once again together. Penelope was looked after and loved by her three big sister's while Carla and Ryan juggled making sure everyone's needs were met in their growing family.
Unfortunately this happy time was cut short when in the early hours of Saturday 5th August, after a precious 3 weeks at home, Ryan and Carla woke to find that Penelope had stopped breathing. Ryan performed CPR while they waited for an ambulance and soon they began the nightmare no parent should experience. A further 2 cardiac arrests and a transfer to the children's hospital, left Ryan and Carla with the devastating news that precious Penelope had suffered brain damage and on a sombre Tuesday 8th August, at 5.50pm, Penelope fell asleep with her ever dutiful parents listening to her favourite story, Guess How Much I Love You.

Ryan and Carla now face every parents worst nightmare. They have lost their precious daughter in such a cruel and unfair way.
