In memory of our hero

       On Saturday May 11th 2019 the world lost a great hero, my Uncle Joe Petka. 

       My Uncle Joe fought for our freedom in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years. Afterwards, he protected our borders when he joined the California Border Patrol where he served another 6 great years. Then, he finished the rest of his law enforcement career and Retired from the Riverside County Sheriffs department after serving 13 years protecting our county. 

         If you knew my uncle, you would know what a great and funny man he was. Him and I had such a special bond that I’m very grateful I was able to experience. My Aunt Tina and Uncle Joe got married 25 years ago and I still remember crying because she was the one marrying him and not me. (I was only 4 years old). We always liked the same random stuff from dumb cartoons to weird sleeping patterns. No matter if I hadn’t seen him for months or days, he was always putting a smile on my face and that I’ll miss the most. I know I’ll always be his uncle baby. ❤️


            With such a sudden loss, my Aunt, who is also a retiree from the Riverside County Sheriffs Department is burdened with all of the financial expenses that come with such a tragedy. Unfortunately, my uncle did not have a life insurance policy in place which leaves all expenses up my Aunt. You can see how that would make things extra hard in this time. If you can donate anything or even share this for her I would be enternally grateful. All of the donations will go directly to her and there’s not a single person on earth that deserves this more.

They have always been our hero’s and they have been so giving my entire life and now it’s our turn to give back when it’s needed. ❤️
