In memory of Meggie. Fundraiser for Meghan's Hope

15 years ago, just one week before Christmas, my beautiful 3-year old
twin daughter Meggie died when her dresser fell on her while the rest of the family was sleeping.  That night I promised her that her death
would be the last one to ever happen because of a fallen dresser.


I started a Website www.meghanshope.org, where you can learn more about Meggie and the cause in her memory.  I also began a quest to
educate others so no other parent has to ever know my pain.  Much to my dismay, I have been unable to keep my promise and I need your help to honor my promise to my Meggie.

At the time, I thought it was a freak accident.  I quickly learned that was far from the truth.  According to the latest statistics, tip-overs happen
every 17 minutes, sending on average 40 children to the ER every day,  and about every 11 days a child dies.  These statistics are only  estimates and
have not significantly changed in the past 15 years!  

I'm finally making good progress reaching parents, industry, retailers, pediatricians, DPH workers, and lawmakers, however advocacy is
time consuming and expensive.  I've been paying for all of my expenses out of pocket for the past 14 years, and I cannot afford to do all I want
and need to do to maintain my momentum on my quest to end furniture tip-overs.  Which is why I am humbly asking for fundraising help.

I travel several times a year to present at conferences and to various groups, attend meetings with industry and government officials, and to exhibit at safety conferences. Many of these expenses are not reimbursed.  I have worked so hard to get to this point in my advocacy, I would
hate to have to turn down these opportunities.

I'm asking for donations to help pay for marketing materials like brochures, business cards, posters and professional exhibit displays,
the creation of educational videos, website and related fees, and for travel expenses to present and exhibit at safety conferences.  I'd also 
like to be able to purchase furniture anchors to give away to those who cannot afford to purchase them.  

Any help you can give is appreciated.  Even if it's just $5. It could quite possibly save a life.  I wish someone had done this 15 years ago.  Meggie might
still be here today if I knew the danger her dresser posed.
