In Memory of Lucas Sall

This week I lost my best friend to a heroin overdose. I met Lucas when we were in the same 1st grade class and after that we were pretty much inseparable.
Whether you were laughing with him, or laughing at him he didn’t really care. He found joy out of making people happy. It’s still very surreal to me that my best friend is gone. I would do anything just to get a call from a random number on my phone (already knowing it’s him) just to talk one last time. As usual we would just catch up, either for a few minutes or a half hour it didn’t matter. Every time we talked or I saw him he was always telling me about his new plans to get sober for good or about his new job or about his latest hustle he was trying to make.
I know Lucas wanted to get clean. And he fought an addiction that me myself couldn’t even begin to imagine. This week he lost that fight and the drugs took away my best friend forever. With that being said, I truly believe his spirit is in a better place now where he doesn’t have to struggle anymore.
The only thing any of us can do now is be there for his mother, Mary Burke. Which is the reason why I made this go-fund-me page. Nothing will ever replace the void in her heart that she will have for the rest of her life. But, any money that is donated on this page will go directly to her in aiding the costs of a wake, and funeral arrangements.
It still doesn’t even feel real to me.

My relationship to Lucas is best friends- basically family.
Once all of the donations are collected I will withdraw the money from my bank account and personally deliver it all to Mary in the total amount. The money was raised to help pay for the wake and funeral arrangements of my best friend in these extremely tough times.
