In Memory of Khaled Jaballah

Khaled was born to his adoring parents, Brittany and Bayrem Jaballah on November 30, 2017. His big beautiful eyes and sweet personality won everyone’s hearts.
At three days old, Khaled was life flighted to Omaha and had his first open heart surgery to repair a heart defect at 4 days old. His parents were told that he would need another surgery at 6 months old, but his condition deteriorated too quickly. He had an unsuccessful open heart surgery on January 23rd and another on January 31st to replace his aortic and pulmonary valves. The latter surgery caused problems with his pulmonary arteries and when he went in to have a balloon catheter inserted to open the pulmonary artery, Khaled went into cardiac arrest. After struggling to recover for 10 days in the hospital, Khaled was finally ready to go home.
Khaled went home with his parents on March 20th. He had been doing so well; he was eating, happy, and his color had improved. Suddenly, in the evening of March 22, Khaled had a sudden cardiac event and died in his mother’s arms.
Khaled’s parents are devastated and grieving the loss of their infant son. During this time of grief, they also must consider the financial problems that are mounting. Khaled had no life insurance because of his heart defects and Brittany just found out the the four weeks paid leave to care for Khaled was just revoked because of his death. Both of his parents took unpaid work leave to care for him. All of his medical bills in addition to funeral expenses have added to this very difficult time.
We ask those who love Brittany, Bayrem, and who fell in love with Khaled, both in person and through social media, for any help to ease the financial burdens so that they can focus on the memory of their beloved son.
