In memory of Kerry and Tom Higgins

In September 2014 Dermot Higgins was diagnosed with cancer of the head and neck, while the family were attending hospital and chemo appointments, Tom’s Wife Kerry found out in July 2016 that she was in heart failure and was later diagnosed with a genetic disorder called Amyloidosis. While attending Tom’s hospital appointments here in Ireland, Kerry also attended hospital appointments here in Ireland and also the UK as not enough doctors had dealt with Kerry’s condition for them to treat it here in Ireland.
On July 16th 2017 Ciara, Roisin and Ava Higgins sadly lost their dad after a battle with cancer. Shortly after the passing of their father Tom, his lovely wife Kerry flew to Birmingham with her eldest daughter Ciara to wait for a heart transplant which she needed due to a genetic disorder she suffered from called Amyloidosis. Kerry received her heart transplant on the 27th of April 2018 which gave her an extra two years with her beautiful daughters. Sadly, on August 17th 2020 Kerry passed away. I am setting up this go fund me to help Kerry’s two eldest daughters, Ciara and Roisin with the funeral bill and education bills, as Roisin and Ava are starting College and secondary school this year. I know the girls would really appreciate any help at all, no matter how big or small.
From the bottom of my heart I just want to say how proud I am of the girls who have shown amazing strength over the past 6 years, from the first diagnosis to the passing of both parents. The girls still manage to smile and make others around them smile.
