In Memory of Joshua James Whitewood

Sadly the Isle of Wight lost an extremely incredible person on the 26th October 2019, a very special lad, a caring lad and someone who had the upmost respect for everyone around him. He would be at rock bottom, and still find it in himself to make you and all around him, smile. His name was Joshua James Whitewood. As he loved Sandown so much and was the life and soul of the town and touched so many people there, we had decided to raise money for a bench, that people can go as and when they please and chat to Joshie, but! with a massive thank you I might add, to William Hall funeral directors they were kind enough to donate a bench for Us to place in Sandown in memory of josh, on the condition that we instead raise money, for a charity of our choosing, that was fitting to the circumstance. So we have decided to choose a charity based here on the island called ‘Isle of Wight youth trust’, and raise funds for them instead, as we no longer need to buy the bench. Sadly our little island is full of young children, and young adults that are extremely depressed, suffer from severe anxiety and struggle with the everyday doings in life, and some even homeless, they are not getting the help they need and deserve. So for this reason all money raised will go to the youth trust to help people like Joshie who did struggle, and found it hard to ask for help. We sadly can’t help Josh but we can certainly make sure that other young adults and teenagers here have the safety and help they need to make something for themselves. We would like to thank you in advance for any donations made, Joshie would be extremely proud of you! And thanks for everyone’s support in this sad, and truly testing time. Let’s pull together islanders ! Make a difference.
