In memory of Harper Wren Hall

Donation protected
Many folks have grieved with the Hall’s over the loss of their precious baby Harper and looked for ways to express their love and support for the Hall family during this difficult time. Much has already been done to show kindness and love to Andrew and Emily during this time and I know they have been grateful and hope that it has provided some comfort to them. Many others have wanted to do something for them but weren’t really sure of what to do. Over the past few weeks, Rose and I have been working on a plan to do something nice for Andrew and Emily and would love for you to be involved with that plan and contribute if you are able and willing. This email has not been sent to everyone at EH. If you are receiving this email it’s because you are either close friends with the Hall’s or have mentioned to Rose or myself that you’d like to do something for them. Please feel free to pass this on to anyone else who you think may be interested in participating.

The plan is to address some landscaping needs in their backyard and provide a usable outdoor space that they can enjoy with family and friends. More details on the plan below. This is something that I’m sure Andrew and Emily could pay for on their own if they chose to do so but, the point here is to (1) bless them with something that they want and need out of our love for them and (2) to take care of this for them so they don’t have to worry about it during this time. The verse that keeps coming to mind when I think of doing this for the Halls is Romans 12:10 – “Love one another with brotherly affection, outdo one another in showing honor.” The Halls have done nothing but show brotherly affection and honor to others since day one of arriving in Atlanta. They have jumped right into work and haven’t stopped working since. They are just such great examples of showing honor to others and we want to show some measure of honor back to them!

Here are the details of the plan…as you know the Hall’s (all of them) love playing outside. One of the things that Andrew has mentioned over the past couple of years is he wants to remove the invasive English Ivy from their yard and take out some of the dead/dying trees. The English ivy is harboring mosquitoes and making it hard for them to enjoy their yard. The plan is to have a professional take down 5 dead/diseased trees in their backyard, grind the stumps, thoroughly remove the English ivy and put down a thick layer of mulch. The next part of the plan, and the part we are most excited about, is to build them an outdoor stone patio/fire pit area. With all of the hospitality they are consistency showing, all the time they spend outside and their love of camp fires, we believe this would be very special for them and something they will able to look at as a symbol of our love for them and sympathy for them after Harper’s passing. This plan will not be cheap, but I think it could be something special that they will never forget.
