In Memory of Francesco - Condolences

My name is Chiara Simonetti, I am Italian and I live in Qatar.  I am a very close friend of Francesco and his family, Carolina and Federico. Francesco was not only my dear friend but also my manager; I have met him and his family in 2015 and since then they have been part of my second family here in Doha as most of the time happen in the expatriate community.  We have been working together since 2019 in Qatar Airways, building up an amazing team and we have been sharing a passion for sports, in particular CrossFit.

Francesco suddenly and tragically passed away on 15 November 2020 due to a routine surgery complication, leaving behind his beloved wife Carolina and his two years old son Federico.  I have organized this fundraising to support Carolina to settle back home in Italy, who is now without the support of Francesco. The money we are collecting will be used to cover the cost of the lawyers in Doha (legal expenses), who are currently representing Francesco's family in a civil and penal lawsuit - battling against the clinic and surgical team involved in order to get some justice out of this tragedy.

Here's a heart-felt message from Francesco's family:  

'This is for our beloved Francy. He passed away suddenly and tragically on November 15, 2020 in Doha, Qatar during surgery to treat ongoing back injuries. The surgery was supposed to give him another opportunity to be his former self and instead his life was ended. He leaves behind his beloved wife Carolina and his two year old son, Federico.

For the people who knew Francesco, there isn’t too much to say. You already know that his passing is a great loss for all of us and it will take so much healing to bring peace to our hearts. You know the courage and determination he had in life and dedication he had to his family and friends.

The next road is going to be a long and difficult one. There will be growing financial difficulties that come with the passing of a loved one who provided for the family. Thankfully, Carolina and Federico are surrounded by so many loved ones that they can rely on.

This fund is to give their family another opportunity for happiness in the future.
So that they don’t have to worry about where their future is going to come from.
So that they can focus on grieving and continuing forward with life.
So that they don’t have an additional burden to carry.

This is a call to our Doha family, our Italian family, American family, and worldwide families. We ask for you to stand by their side now and help them in this very difficult time.
