In Memory of Ena Palma

Dear family and friends,
Our grandmother, Ena Palma, passed away from stage four cancer a few days into the new year. She found out about her cancer when it was already well into its advanced stages but that didn't scare her away. She faced it headfirst and began the long series of treatment with courage and a determination to see it through.
Our grandmother was a fighter. She was one of the strongest women I've ever known. In situations where she felt trapped or like there weren't many options, my grandma really knew how to make the best of the moment. She glowed the brightest amidst moments that were bleak and hopeless. That's just the type of person she was. She was determined, independent, stubborn and set on what she thought she should go after. Once she set her mind onto something, there was no stopping her and that was an admirable trait of hers. Our grandmother was a strong female presence in our lives and we have her to thank for leaving a bit of wisdom with us. She was fierce but she was always gentle with those she cared about. I know I speak on behalf of those who knew her when I say that she was always trying to buy you a little snack and went out of her way to try and make you smile. I don't think I ever saw her without a packet of cookies in her purse to pull out and share.
Due to COVID, hospitals have been a bit more strict in terms of who and what they're letting inside. This is with the safety of everyone in mind but it still made things tough for our family because we weren't allowed to visit our grandmother or drop off homemade food. Our grandma stuck it through though, doing her best to stay positive and keep her strength up to continue fighting her cancer. She fought it off for a few months before it became too much for her but she did well. You did real well, Abuelita.
On behalf of her family, we ask that you consider donating any little bit you can to help us with the expense of laying her down for her final rest. With COVID still looming over us all, we have the added pressure of needing to move forward with her funeral as soon as possible in order to free up space in an overcrowded hospital. Please help her meet up with all her loved ones one last time and allow us to give her a proper burial as soon as possible.
The funds gathered will be used towards arranging a memorial service with the Inglewood Park cemetery and the cosmetics/dressing, possible embalming , transportation to the cemetery, flowers, grave liner, etc., that come with the service.

Muchos de ustedes tal vez no conozcan todos mis familiares o relativos pero me estoy referriendo de nuestra amada abuelita. Su nombre fue Ena Palma. Con el corazon en la mano y con mucho dolor, les digo que ella lamentablemente fallecio hace unos dias. Ena fue diagnosticada con cancer de nivel cuatro. Su cancer estaba en un estado avanzado pero ella no se asusto si no lo enfrento directamente. Ella no le tenia miedo aunque no habia muchas opciones por ser un cancer tan avanzado. Ella siempre fue asi: bien fuerte y con muchas ganas de seguir adelante. Era una persona que sabia lo que queria y no le tenia miedo a nada. A la misma vez, ella era muy carinosa y generosa con todos. Ella era una persona con una presencia fuerte pero tambien tenia mucho amor y era de un temperamento calido y bondadoso.
Su familia esta devastada con esta noticia inesperada y les pedimos su ayuda a quienes nos conozca y tambien quienes no nos conozcan. Si los pueden apoyar para que ella se reuna con Dios como ella hubiese querido con alguna donacion. Cualquier cantidad que salga de su corazon, nosotros les estaremos inmensamente agradecidos.
