In Memory of Doug Berry

This past week Trish's husband, Douglas Berry died in a tragic vehicle accident while doing one of those things he loved best – heading off camping for one last night before heading back to his Construction job with the Film & TV Union here in Vancouver.

He was a best friend to his wife Trish and their Airedale Phoebe. Trish & Doug met at UVic in the theatre department in 1986 while working on the musical "Man of La Mancha". They started dating about a year later, and finally married in 1992.

Doug loved nature (not a city boy), adventure (exploring BC on the backroads). He loved being on the stage. He loved writing – drama, comedy – he was really good at it. He was intelligent, knowledgeable, articulate. He loved to cook, and he was really good at it. He was deeply loyal to his friends and bosses. He listened well. He was so damn funny. He was cheeky, an imp. He loved his family deeply, and he loved and cared for Trish every day they were together.

We are Trish's work colleagues. In this time of loss and sadness, we want to come together to help and to support Trish, who we all care so very much for. With all of the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it also brings financial burdens. We are trying to raise money for Trish to help with any costs that will incur and to help wherever needed.
