In Memory of Der Rcom

On June 6, 2020, my life shattered as I learned of the tragic passing of my Grandpa, Der Rcom.
A loving member in the Greensboro community, my grandpa is easily one of the most caring, kind-hearted person I know. Those who know him, know he has a heart full of gold. He has a wonderful sense of humor and brought joy and laughter to everyone he meets.
It wasn’t until May of this year, that my grandpa contracted COVID-19 while working. He started to feel ill; having symptoms like high fever and body aches. It was so bad that he had to be rushed to the ER. He was then diagnosed and hospitalized for three days until they had to released him.
It wasn’t until two days later where his condition worsen and he had to be sent back. Thankfully he had an amazing team of healthcare workers who helped and tried everything possible.
But unfortunately, due to his pre-existing health conditions, there was nothing they could do anymore. His body kept rejecting all of the medications. Eventually, he was transferred to comfort care before ultimately passing at the age of 80. My heart shatters knowing he was suffering alone as I couldn’t be there for him nor could my grandma.
Times have been really difficult so I am making this go fund me in hopes of being able to help cover my grandpa’s funeral cost and hospital bills. If you aren’t able to contribute, I kindly ask that you keep my family and my grandpa in your prayers and to share this post.
In addition, I would also like to remind everyone to take quarantining seriously, because this could happen to anyone, anywhere, and at any time. Thank you.
