In Memory of Clementine

Donation protected
Sweet baby Clementine passed away this weekend. After a long 50 hour labor and some fluctuating heart rates, Mallery was taken into an emergency c section. Clementine didn’t make it out alive.

*All additional proceeds will be used to purchase more CuddleCots, provide grief support to families experiencing loss, and hopefully partner with some incredible organizations/foundations that we have been blessed to be in contact with already.*

We are blown away by the support we have received over the last four days. Thinking of giving back to families experiencing the same kind of loss has given us something to hold on to. We reached our goal so quickly that we have chosen to increase it. Please consider donating. If you’re unable to donate please keep sharing in honor of our sweet Clementine.

Mallery and Shawn

Some words from Mallery Apple and Shawn Strand “My amazing girlfriend and I lost our beautiful baby girl March 31st, 2018.
Clementine Nova Bee Strand, 8lbs 1oz and 22” long.
We sit here alone with Clementine in our dark hospital room as I write this. Heartbroken, devastated, and hopeless don't even begin to describe what we are feeling and experiencing. Feeling lost, foggy, and without purpose, we don't know how to process any of this or begin to pick up the pieces of our smashed hearts. What was supposed to be the most joyess pinnacle of our existence has become the absolute worst day of our lives. What was supposed to be the ultimate celebration of life, we now have to deal with all the options that accompany death.
How does one go back home? We bought our home just months ago in the hopes of building this family we were starting, already building memories and envisioning a future with our daughter. Going home means nowdealing with the haunted memories of our imagined future with her.
How can one feel so hollowed and empty and filled with a deep harrowing sadness so close after being filled with so much hope, love, and happiness?
We want and need to heal but don't know what that looks like.”

Shawn Strand and Mallery Apple, parents of Clementine Strand.

I have set up a Go Fund Me account to help with medical expenses and to sponsor a Cuddle Cot. The Cuddle Cot cooling method allows the maternity ward of a hospital to keep the baby with family for a long period of time during the mother’s hospital stay. This has bought time for us to grieve the loss of sweet Clementine and spend a few short days with her before we lay her down to rest. It would mean a lot to Mal & Shawn if they could pass this on to the next couple in need in honor of Clementine.

Please wait to contact them until they are ready to reach out.
