In Memory of Bill Jannke, Historian & Friend
William F. Jannke III, 58, of Watertown, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at his home. To most of us, he was simply “Bill”–-and we will remember him as a friend and irreplaceable community member who shared his passion for local history, theater, art and words with us.
He was a man rich in talent and friends—but of meager worldly means—so we offer this ‘GoFundMe’ page as an opportunity for community members to honor Bill’s memory and help with his funeral and memorial costs. Funds in excess of that need will be donated in his memory to benefit organizations close to his heart—particularly The Watertown Players, the Watertown Library, and the Watertown Historical and Genealogical societies.
He is gone too soon—an exceptionally kind and thoughtful person who we will miss immensely. His life will continue to be an inspiration to us all as an example of giving the best of oneself to the benefit of community and exhibiting sheer perseverance in the face of adversity.
Please join us on February 8th at 11am for a service at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 615 Jones Street-- followed immediately by a celebration of Bill’s life at The Market, 210 South Water Street in Watertown, WI.
Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. His obituary may be found and online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com
