As many of you know, earlier this month my vibrant and joyful grandfather suffered from a massive stroke, resulting in an immediate procedure to remove two blood clots from his brain.

From there, my Pop was placed in the Yale Neuro ICU, and stayed there for a little over a week. Unfortunately, with his old age and the fluid on his lungs, he couldn't survive on his own without continuing to be intubated. On October 19th, myself and the rest of my family were called up to the ICU. We were told his heart was too weak and his lungs were filled with fluid, and his organs could not longer help him breathe on his own. Luckily we were all there with him as they took the breathing tube out, and we helped him pass as peacefully as possible. Pop passed surrounded by the people who loved him most, and although we miss him terribly, we are all happy he is no longer suffering.

If you knew my Pop you knew how selfless of a man he was, always thinking of others, regardless if you were family or a stranger. He'd give you the shirt off his back, even if it left him in the cold. It's our turn to give back to a man who was always giving to others before himself.

Myself and my family are doing all we can to help support my grandmother in this time of need. Anyone who knows our grandmother knows how strong she is, and she is the last person to ask for help. That's why myself, my siblings and my cousins have decided to create this gofundme in both her and my pop's honor.

Anything you can donate, or even simply sharing this page would mean the world to all of us and our family. At 87, my grandmother is STILL working, but this has left our family in a difficult place financially. We sincerely appreciate any and all help that can come our way.

All donations will be going towards my Pop's hospital and medical bills, household bills, memorial services, and other expenses that insurance may not cover.

Thoughts, prayers and all of your support are greatly appreciated. We miss and love our Pop, but know his legacy will live on forever <3
