In Memory of Allan Poapst

Allan Douglas Poapst was born on February 15, 1970. From that day forward, he has played many roles in many lives. A loving, proud father to his three daughters, Krystal, aged 17, and Chelsie and Caitlyn, aged 15; a mischievous, happy son to his parents, Doug and Pat; a funny, doting older brother to Greg, and Lori, no longer with us; and a cousin, always looking to contribute to the joy and merriment of those around him. Beyond the love he brought to his family, Allan was an avid hockey player, huge Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan and was lucky enough to be in attendance, dyed-blue beard and all, with his brother when the Blue Bombers won the Grey Cup in Calgary two weeks ago.

Allan passed away on December 13, 2019, on-duty as an RCMP officer in Manitoba. He took his job seriously and valued the camaraderie he shared with his fellow officers. Allan was an active member of the community, both as an officer at large, and as a supportive father. His family was proud of the skill and sincerity he brought to his career.

Being the great man that he was, Allan touched many lives, and the hole he leaves behind is immense. While his family will love, cherish and support his daughters, we are accepting contributions from any and all who knew him, whether from the service, from his hockey teams, or beyond. Allan always valued his daughters' educations, and encouraged them to pursue university degrees. Contributions to this page will primarily go towards furthering their education.

At present, the family is seeking privacy, and to celebrate the love that he spread to those close to him. We love you Allan, our father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, mentor, friend, and so much more. You will remain a sacred part of our memories forever.
