Wanda Lyons tragically lost her life on Wednesday, December 11th, 2019 during a brutal attack in her home in Traverse City, Michigan, where she lived with her husband. The authorities still do not know what caused the murder but have arrested her neighbor for brutally beating, stabbing and strangling her in her home.

Wanda was a loving wife to her husband. And was working towards repairing her relationship with her four children, all of whom reside in Des Moines, Iowa with their families. Wanda leaves behind her husband, four children and eleven grandchildren.
Her children were taken aback by the news of her death and the manner in which it happened. Their mother's husband has asked for financial assistance to help with costs. Unfortunately the children are not prepared to endure the expenses of funeral arrangements and traveling to retrieve her remains and possible trips for the trial. Their step-father is relying on them heavily for support, guidance and advice in mitigating this unknown territory for him.
The family is hoping to have a small memorial in Traverse City for their step-father's family, and another memorial in Peoria, Illinois (Wanda's hometown) with her family and friends.
