From Todd's loving partner Kira:
"Yesterday (9/28/2020) our world was shattered completely to the ground without any comprehensible way of bringing it back up. Todd was involved in a head-on collision in West Marin and lost his life…His mountain bike-his first love-was in the back of the car, ready to rip...To our friends and family who are finding out this way, I am truly sorry…This is a HUGE loss for not just our family, but our communities far and wide. He lived to provide a more beautiful life for us all, to shower us in gorgeously perfect food and make sure there was always a good song in the background (with impeccable lighting in the room). He was f-ing incredible at everything he did, and he showed me how to live, truly…I will live for him and raise our family, but I don’t know how yet. We love you all and thank you for being a part of our lives."
Todd is survived by Kira + his two daughters Charlie (2) + Ashlyn (8). In addition to being a loving partner + father, Todd was an incredible chef. Through his love of food + local agriculture, he was able to provide for his family as their main source of income. As a close friend of Kira, I was asked to help organize this fundraising effort. The funds will be passed on to Claire Nilsen, Kira's mom who will take care of getting it in Kira's hands. There will be a lot of expenses - from dealing with Todd's passing, to helping get Kira + the girls get back on their feet with rent, childcare, groceries, education, etc. Please contribute what you can + share widely so we can help relieve even the smallest bit of stress as they navigate how to move forward.
Additionally, a few of Kira's friends will be compiling scrapbooks about Todd for Charlie + Ashlyn. If you would like to write them a letter or share a picture or story, please contact us at auntie.scrapbook.project (at gmail dot com). Let's help preserve Todd's memory + make sure that his two girls know exactly how amazing he was + how much he loved them.
