Donation protected

As many of you across Alberta have heard from the news, a tightly woven community of Rochfort bridge and surrounding towns, have been rocked to the core by a terrible tragedy that has claimed FIVE lives. This fundraiser is organized by the community in hopes of helping Gibbs family out with any expenses they will face as they lay their loved ones to rest. Mysty Schallock, daughter of Marvin Gibbs will be the direct beneficiary of this fundraiser and all the proceeds will go directly towards funeral costs.

This tragedy has affected many within the county of Lac Ste Ann and far beyond. Many will have to tell their kids that they will not see their little friends again. If you have anything to give, please do so graciously. If you are able to spread the word and share this page, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. As always, personal Cards and donations can be dropped off directly at Mayerthorpe Family Dental (4515 50 street Mayerthorpe).

As the investigation is ongoing, we ask for privacy for all those affected. Thank you kindly to all who have reached out so far and all those who are keeping the family in their thoughts and prayers.

Below is an exempt from news

“Marvin and Janet Gibbs and their three grandchildren were discovered in their Rochfort Bridge, Alta., home that was destroyed by the fire on Thursday.

They had taken custody of the three grandchildren about a year ago.

Marvin was a very good man. He was 81 years old). He was a bit slow at getting around. Marvin was a welder, carpenter and a volunteer firefighter.

Marvin, who had live in Rochfort for most of his life, was often seen shovelling snow, cleaning ditches, hauling firewood. He was never without a thermos of coffee.

The children were very happy, outgoing kids. The children were 6, 5 and 2.

Marvin and Janet spent a lot of time out walking in the community. The children stood out because there aren't many young children living in Rochfort bridge”.

Once again, thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers.
