As you all know Rick and I spent a great deal of time in The Alfred Hospital over the last 8 months, and as talented as the doctors and specialists are, the people that impacted us the most during our time was the amazing nurses on Ward 5 East.
These generous, loving people supported both Rick & myself through some of the hardest moments in our life. They provided a caring, friendly, supportive and at times fun environment.
And when the end came for Rick the nursing team on 5 East supported our decisions and choices for Rick to spend his last days with them rather than sending him to a palliative care ward.
These nurses ensured that the last days of Rick's life and the hardest of mine, were filled with love, respect, dignity and compassion.
And this is why I am asking you to donate here, so that I can give the nurses at 5 East an afternoon & night (shift workers) of laughs, food and drink so that they know how much they are appreciated!
All the money raised will go towards an event at Lady Nelson's in loving memory of Rick.
