<div>Hello, my name is Valerie Jane, and I am one of the daughters of Ricardo Camia Alarcon. With a heavy heart, I am humbly reaching out to ask for your support in raising funds for my father’s funeral service and to bring his ashes home to the Philippines.
</div>

<div>My father, Ricardo—known by many names and loved by many people—was a retired mechanical engineer, master electrician, and master plumber. He was incredibly smart, especially in mathematics. He loved Sudoku, word games, and watching local news. His favorite movies were action films, especially those of Jason Statham, Liam Neeson, and Jackie Chan.

<div>He had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed karaoke. He was also a wonderful cook—his menudo, adobong antiguo, lechong kawali, and dinuguan were family favorites. His favorite food was salmon, and he loved starting his mornings with a cup of coffee. Though he was a homebody, he enjoyed walking, doing cardio, and stretching exercises. Surprisingly, chicken biryani became his recent comfort food. Quiet yet social, he was friendly, generous, and always thoughtful.

<div>His Final Journey

<div>On August 12, 2025, my father traveled to Ireland to visit his grandchildren and celebrate their birthdays. He was in good spirits despite occasional neck, arm, and leg pain. During this precious time, he was able to explore County Mayo, several malls in Dublin, and County Wicklow.

</div>
<div>However, in the first week of October, his health declined rapidly. He began experiencing weakness in his legs, followed by numbness and loss of sensation. On October 12, he was rushed to Tallaght University Hospital, but his condition worsened, and he was transferred to Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where doctors discovered a fracture in his cervical spine. It was there that he received the devastating diagnosis of advanced stage 4 liver cancer.

<div>He became dependent on a ventilator and lost all movement and feeling in his legs. Doctors told us he had only months left and that treatment was no longer possible. Despite this, my father held on patiently, waiting to see his beloved wife, Victoria. On his final day, he expressed his last wishes, said his goodbyes, thanked our Lord, and cried for forgiveness. His final words to us were:

<div>How the Funds Will Be Used

</div>
<div>All donations will go toward my father’s funeral service. He will be cremated, and we hope to bring his urn home to the Philippines, where he wished to rest.
</div>

<div>Our family is deeply heartbroken, but we take comfort in knowing that Tatay Ric is now at peace—free from pain and suffering. We miss him dearly and love him more than words can express.
</div>
