In loving Memory of Lionel Cohen
Donation protected
On Saturday, September 19th, Lionel Cohen unexpectedly passed away while visiting family in the Chicagoland area. He was only 58 years old - an incredible husband, father, stepfather, son, uncle, and brother. Anyone who met Lionel, even briefly, knew what a compassionate, gentle, and witty guy he was. He was a standup family man who regularly made time to help wherever he could lend a hand.
In the midst of the pain, the family is taking some solace that he passed on the holy day of Rosh Hashanah. It is believed that those who die on the Jewish New Year are considered "tzadik," which is a title given to the righteous. In the last several months, Lionel regularly traveled back and forth to Chicago to see his family and help with a variety of home improvement projects.
Just as Lionel was always willing to offer his support to his family and friends, it is now our turn to offer our support. Let us partner together to lessen the financial burden involved in funeral and burial expenses. In lieu of flowers (or some other contribution) to the family, we kindly ask that you consider making a donation to this initiative instead. The family will have two funerals: one in the Chicagoland area where he died, and one in Florida, where he resided with his wife. Additionally, Lionel's body will need to be transported, which is a costly endeavor. We realize that offering financial support to the Cohen family during this uncertain time may be difficult for some. Please know that any amount is greatly appreciated.
With much love and gratitude,
Friends of the Cohen Family
