In Loving Memory of Karl J. Mackey

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Karl Joseph Mackey, cherished and beloved father, son, brother, partner, and friend. He fought for his life for nearly one week in the hospital, but the stress of the infection that over took his body in a matter of days was too much for his heart, and he passed away surrounded by family on the morning of April 9, 2018.

The loss of Karl is truly unfathomable. It's so heartbreaking, especially if you were lucky enough to have known him. He leaves behind his two young daughters, as well as a loving family for whom the loss is incomprehensible.

Please consider donating to Karl's family to help take the immense financial burden of this tragedy off their shoulders. In doing so, we may give them the gift of time to process and begin healing.

With the help of family, friends and our community, we can raise money to help manage the burden of medical bills, funeral expenses, and the costs of two growing girls, Karl's beloved daughters, Jordyn and Jayden.

There is no way to describe how much we will miss Karl and the impact he had on each of our lives. Any donation, no matter how big or small, is appreciated during this incredibly difficult and stressful time.

Thank you.

Funeral Home Services and celebration of life for Karl are being provided by Serenity Funeral Home & Serenity Gardens Memorial Park of Largo, FL on Saturday April 14th.

We will have private family time from 3-4pm. After that we will open the room for a gathering a friends from 4-7pm.

At 7pm, we will have a service to honor his life. We will be asking anyone who wants to speak to come forward and say a few words. We would love to have as many of you who want to get up and share to do so. I am sure there are hilarious and incredible stories that would move room and help us all grieve properly.

This GoFundMe has been set up by Jon Mackey's fiance, Amelia Swaggert, on behalf of the Mackey family. Please reach out to Jon directly with any questions or for more information. His contact information can be found here .

In Loving Memory...
Karl Joseph Mackey
August 24, 1975 – April 9, 2018

“Since we met five years ago, Karl has been my love and my friend. He will be remembered for his upbeat, strong, and loving personality; a man with a great sense of humor and ability to make all those around him laugh. He loved to hunt, fish, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time with his family.

Karl was a deeply devoted father to his two precious daughters, they meant the world to him. Anyone who saw him around Jordyn and Jayden could easily see the love that poured from him.

Karl had a great passion for bodybuilding, and that passion carried over to the many clients he inspired in his career as a personal fitness trainer. He always encouraged and motivated his clients and friends to be the best they could be, and took great pride in his work.

Most of all, anyone who knew Karl would agree he had a huge heart and loved his friends and family. I know he is looking down on us all, wanting us to keep going forward and be the best we can be, with a smile on his face.”
