In Loving Memory of Jong Mercado

Donation protected

During my time in Thailand I was privileged to work along side this dear family pictured above. Jong, Christine, and their two beautiful girls Lala and Kai Kai.  They have consistently committed their lives to sharing the love of Christ with everyone around them.  As many of you know, full time missionary work doesn’t always pay the best, but that didn’t stop the Mercado family from dedicating their lives to serving others. Through my own experience, they blessed and encouraged me on so many occasions with their hospitality, passion for the gospel, and hearts of intercession. Jong and Christine were always ready to serve and welcome others into their home, no matter what the cost. A few years ago, they decided to move back to the Philippines (where they’re from) and begin a small restaurant in their home town. This was a passion for both of them, with Jong being an amazing cook, and Christine thriving through her hospitable heart. They really felt alive in their giftings and loved serving others while working together to make a humble living. Unfortunately, in a heart breaking event, two weeks ago, Jong suddenly passed away after being hospitalized with pneumonia. My heart yearns for Christine and her beautiful daughters who are now left without their husband and father.

On top of losing Jong, they have been burdened with thousands of dollars worth of medical bills after weeks of Jong being hospitalized, and don’t know how they are going to repay this enormous debt. I want to beg you to please pray and intercede for his beautiful Wife and daughters as they grieve and process life without Jong. As well as prayer, I have gone ahead and set up a fund that will go 100% to their family. I can’t imagine the heart break they are going through, tears roll down my face as I write their story. Even though I can’t take away their pain, I know our father in heaven can bring comfort through prayer and supply their every need through His body. I’m reaching out to you, brothers and sisters, in an attempt to support their family financially and raise them up in prayer.Even in a time of grief, I know that Jesus can bring comfort, even in a time of financial despair, I know that Jesus provides, and I also know that often he uses us, His body, to perform these amazing miracles. Please join me as we rise up together in the name of Christ to bless Christine, Lala, and Kai Kai.
