In Loving Memory of Jeff Somers

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts, we share with you that Jeff Somers, a son, husband, father, fireman, hero and friend to so many, passed away at the age 42, on Saturday, February 3rd in Vail, Arizona. Many would describe Jeff as a passionate man. He loved sports (especially the Minnesota Vikings), anything dealing with firefighting, and most of all, his family.
Jeff was an Assistant Chief at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Fire Emergency Service where he had served for over twenty years. For over two decades, his professionalism and love for the job ignited passion in the hearts of many firefighters. He was a servant leader who believed in strong family values. Over the years, Jeff influenced a community of Department of Defense firefighters that now spans the entire globe. His passing comes as a surprise to all and has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
This is a memorial fund was set up in the memory of Jeff Somers, to help his family during this difficult time and end of life costs. Jeff leaves behind his wife Renee Somers, his sons Jeff and Javier Somers, and many other family members, loved ones, and the men and women of the Air Force Fire Emergency Services family. Jeff’s family feels blessed to have such an amazing community of people who love them. Any prayers, kind words or donations would be of great help.
