In Loving Memory of Dorothy “Hot Dot” Ciofani

Our mom, Dorothy Mary Ciofani left us early Tuesday morning on February 7th to go “home”.”  She went home to her parents, family and friends who’ve previously crossed over. Our mom was a kind and compassionate person, fun-loving, witty and creative, and she taught us so many wonderful lessons for life. In all of her simplicity, one of the most important lessons was to give. Giving, in even the smallest ways, this was so important to her. Although she loved flowers, our family is asking in lieu of flowers to consider donating to our friend and avid cat rescuer, Emily.  Emily serves as primary caretaker for approximately 75 homeless cats who are spread across 20 colonies in Baltimore City and Randallstown.  She provides daily care (food, water,shelter) to them and works tirelessly to humanely trap, spay/neuter and vaccinate all of the kitties she cares for. She has found rescue or homes for countless friendly cats who were once owned, and dumped as if their little lives didn’t matter. She’s used her microchip scanner to reunite lost cats with their families. If you check Emily out on Facebook, you will see firsthand the love that she has for animals. She devotes her life, every extra penny she’s got, and all of her free time to helping God’s creatures.   We would be honored to have Mom’s memorial donations  be contributed to help this important cause. In honor of our mom, we would really like to help Emily to continue to feed and take care of her cat colonies and to be able to give them the medical care they need, when necessary.
