In Loving Memory of Deane Wood

Donation protected
Taken from us much too soon, Deane Wood passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2017 from irreversible internal bleeding complications. As a son, husband, father, brother, uncle, coach, neighbor, and friend to so many, he left an impact on everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed. It's hard to begin putting into words the immeasurable legacy Deane left because he was a man of action: taking care of his loved ones as well as people he'd only met once. You were all special to him no matter what walk of life you were coming from and though we have always recognized it, we are remembering him for his remarkable character under these circumstances.

Deane's gift of life will always be cherished by his wife Carrie and their daughter Alana, who just recieved her Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from University of the Pacific and will be continuing her full-time position as a speech therapist in Los Angeles. He will also be missed by his mother Bernice or "Googa," his sister Cindy, twin brother Richard or "Woody," nieces, nephew, and the family's three dogs at home in their "big red barn."

His neighbors knew him as the "Mayor of Moyers"-- if you've ever been to a block party thrown by Deane you know there is nothing else quite like Labor Day on Moyer's Street. As a die-hard Cowboys fan, Warrior's fan, avid camper, Mastercraft boat owner and wakeboarder, painter at Cal State East Bay, and of course roller skater (back in his teenage years,) Deane never missed a mark when it came to the things he was dedicated to and passionate about.

This GoFundMe was created by his niece Kelsey Wood where you can feel free to donate to help Carrie and Alana carry on with their lives more easily without our beloved Deane. He was never one to ask for anything in return for his time and simply found joy in that. The family wants to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the absolute outpour of love and supportive words and gestures. We are moving forward with Deane's legacy in our hearts and minds as we interact with our friends and strangers.
