In loving memory of Bob Slate
Donation protected
On March 16th, 2024, William Robert “Bob” Slate’s valiant four year battle with prostate cancer ended. The Hot Wheels aficionado, loyal Lions fan, kid-at-heart, nature loving Sticker Ninja is survived by his dedicated wife and best friend of over 37 years, Peggy, and their two sons Jake and Mickey. Throughout his battle, Bob’s childlike optimism and zest for life never faltered. He humbly and publicly shared his health journey to bring awareness to prostate cancer, in hopes to spare others of the same suffering. Through his advocacy and encouragement, many men have received screenings and it's likely he saved at least one person's life due to an early prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment.
In the midst of Bob’s battle with cancer, the Slate family was faced with yet another immense challenge, as Peggy was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Peggy is actively recovering from a double mastectomy. She had to undergo the necessary surgery just as Bob’s health began to take a turn for the worse. She courageously walked with him through his final days, as she was physically healing, herself.
Though the Slate family is strong and resilient, they could use extra love and support now more than ever. We are asking you to please consider donating to this wonderful family who has been faced with unimaginable adversities. Your generosity will assist with day-to-day and medical expenses to allow the Slate family time and space to grieve and heal. Information for Bob’s Celebration of Life will be shared at a later date.
