In Loving Memory of Jody Ruhmann

There are many people who are wanting to contribute to the memory of Jody Ruhmann without sending flowers. This is the opportunity to help pay for funeral expenses, and cover any medical bills .


 Jody had a stroke on Wednesday morning, on August 30th, 2017. While they were trying to retrieve the clot from her vessel, there were multiple complications. One being the major artery that feeds the small vessel that had the clot, kept collapsing from how fragile it became from her being a long-time smoker. This also happened to be the main artery that gives blood supply to the brain stem. The doctors tried everything they could, but they couldn't repair or open the artery. This has caused a massive stroke to occur due to a lack of blood flow to the brain stem. They sedated her and intubated her and continued to try everything they could think of for a fix. They were unsuccessful. We kept her intubated and sedated over night to try to let her brain heal a little bit and recover. We stopped the sedation the next morning to see how much damage was done and after a long 24 hour observation off of sedation, we discovered that she had detrimental damage, and the neurologist gave her a 0% chance of ever recovering due to her lack of response to any type of stimuli. The family decided that the best thing for her was to stop interventions, and keep her comfortable. We extubated her, put her onto hospice, brought her home where she was able to receive cares until she passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017. 

With not having medical insurance, it is expected that the medical bills are going to be extreme.
