In Memory of Pat Moore aka Mom

Donation protected

In memory and honor of my wonderful "Mom, Pat Moore, please consider a donation to the UUG (Unitarian Universalists of Gettysburg.) Memorial gifts in her honor and memory will be used toward upgrading the audio and visual equipment so that all can continue to participate in the congregation's services, whether they attend the services or watch over Zoom.

Both Mom and Dad attended UUG. For those of you not familiar with UU:

"Unitarian Universalists assert no creed, but instead are unified by their shared search for spiritual growth, guided by a dynamic, 'living tradition.' Unitarian Universalists state that from these traditions comes a deep regard for intellectual freedom and inclusive love."

Mom died on May 23, 2021. Below is my FaceBook post I case you missed it:

My amazing mom, died yesterday. She felt no pain. I am grateful beyond words, that Mom was there when I came into the world, and I was lucky enough to be there when she left. Tuesday I posted that Mom/Pat was improving daily from her two strokes and nuero-surgery. The next day, Mom was not feeling as well. Each day her body presented new challenges. Her heart struggled. Her kidneys rebelled. Pneumonia took hold and by Saturday it was clear to me, that Mom would not be leaving the hospital. She wound not get to “Rehab.” I talked to the doctor about hospice and he thought I was premature.

Mom was comfortable to the end. She needed no morphine. She repeatedly told me how much she loved me, Dad, her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and on and on. Mom always said that, “God is Love!” Dad and Mom could only say “I love you!” on Face Time. They would only virtually hold hands and kiss. The COVID-19 rules at York Hospital would allow only one person, and that person could not change. I focused on the fact that six months earlier, I could not have been with Mom. I sang in her ear and she sang along….Sometimes even harmonizing. I tried repeating a few songs and she would say, “You already sang that!” As she got weaker Mom would hum along, and the last hours she would hum notes here and there. The Moore family hearts are broken. I know that this heartbreak came after a life of love beyond words. Mom was something special. If I got to chose any being that ever existed to be my mom, Mom would have been my choice. I wish that every person could have a mom like Mom. I am so appreciative of your posts and support, my friends. It is impossible to answer everyone. Please know… I appreciate you…Much Love, Bruce
