In honor of Oscar Rivera

On May 1, 2018 Oscar was diagnosed with Liver Charosis. He spent 1 month at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worscter, 3 weeks at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, and his latest 1 Month admission at Beth Isreal in Boston. We have fought hard for 3 months to get him the best care, we have met with Transplant Social Workers, Doctors, and Case Managers, but to no avail. Yesterday, August 3, 2018 we met with Boston doctors for what would have been the last time. As my cousin Kaylie (his wife), daughter,  brothers, neices, nephews, and myself gathered around him as his doctors, and nurses told us that they have done all they can, and anything else they were to try to do at this point would be inhumane and harmful to him. Kaylie had to make the heart wrenching decision for Oscar to be put on Hospice today. He will be transferred this afternoon after his last Dyslisis treatment to a Hospice facility where he will spend his remaining days with family, and friends. Oscar was given a 1 week life expectancy. Oscar will leave behind his wife, 4 older children, 2 young children, Kaylie's 2 children, 3 grandchildren whom him and Kaylie have custody of, his brothers, sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Kaylie is in the middle of planning a funeral for her husband, has been out of work for weeks throughout this whole process, and is still caring for their 5 children. Oscar's family needs any help that anyone is willing to offer. If you can donate, your donation is beyond appreciated. If you can not, your prayers are just as appreciated.
