Man Drowns in Snye After Saving Friend
On August 23rd, 2019, Jefferson Cruz, my uncle, had tragically lost his life after heroically saving a friend from drowning. He had managed to push his friend safely to shore, sacrificing himself in the process.
Jefferson was a fiercely loyal man, willing to do absolutely anything for the sake of his friends and family. To him, the welfare of others mattered more than his own. He had always shown me his unending kindness, no matter how busy or tired he was. His death has left us all shocked and in distress, even more so his wife and son who had not been able to see him in years.
Jefferson had moved to Canada in order to provide for his wife and son back in the Philippines. It was his goal to bring his family to Canada, in hopes of a better future. Unfortunately, his death had come before they could reunite.
Currently, we are raising funds in order to send his body back to his wife and son in the Philippines so that they could see him one last time before they lay him to rest. Additionally, his wife and son will need financial support for their basic needs. Any extra funds will go towards paying for his son's education.
We loved him so much and we miss him dearly.
