My heart is full of both gratitude and sorrow.
Laying my father to rest yesterday was difficult to say the least, and yet the outpouring of love and support from family and friends has been overwhelming.
Your presence, stories, kind words, meals, and prayers have been our lifeline this week. Thank you.
Three months ago my Dad sat at the kitchen table after a particularly frustrating day at work, his truck broke down- again- he had become the master of putting out constant fires while stoking his own. I mentioned that I hoped sometime soon I could buy him a proper vehicle and help out more in general so he could rest. He smiled a tired and thoughtful smile and replied, “Oh, don’t worry about me… just take care of your mother.”
I promised him I would and he seemed relieved for the time being.
So here we are, much sooner than expected. Our hearts brimming with love, loss, and great need.
I am committed to caring for my family- as are my other 4 siblings who honor my father alongside me.
My Dad had no health or life insurance, meaning all medical, funeral, and now living expenses for my mother are “out of pocket”. I only have two pockets, so I’m recruiting my community, family and friends who have asked in what ways they can help.
Here is how you can help:

If you are a tradesperson or have a specific skillset that could contribute to the restoration of my parents home, a home my Dad moved and rebuilt for our family but didn’t have the resources as of late to maintain, we need you.
All funds raised will go towards funeral expenses, my Dad’s treatment and medical bills, and will aide my Mom as she transitions into a new season without her primary support and husband of 40 years.
