In Bucks Honor
We are raising funds and raising awareness of the animals who are overlooked, tragically thrown away, abused, neglected, and forgotten. Bucks story is not a unique one as I am sure it happens everywhere and more than we know, however it should not happen. We ask ourselves constantly, how can anyone take the life of their pet after so many faithful and loving years? How can you walk up to that pet and just simply destroy it? How could anyone sleep at night. Euthanasia is an extremely hard and difficult decision and should be taken out in a respectful manner, we do not live in the 1800’s. We understand laws are laws but are those laws right or appropriate? Should people be able to abuse their pets or throw away their pets just because some other person says you have ownership. That is a life, a breathing, heart beating, sensitive feeling life and most give their lives for their humans. Their tail wagging, circle running, hopping, jumping nature should tell you the love our pets have for us. If you have the right to own an animal, you should also be required to care for that life as you would your own.
We have found the owner and Buck is a 13 years old German Wirehaired Pointer. We will call him by his name because it is his name and to change it now would be wrong to him. This story may upset people, but laws are laws, and we can do nothing about it. Buck belonged to an elderly man that felt it was time for Buck to cross the rainbow bridge. He took Buck out into the woods and shot him. When he seen him fall, he walked away. However, Buck was only knocked out from the gunshot that made a nasty gash on his skull and many slices across his head. No one knows how long he laid there or what he suffered. Even though we believe it is wrong to go out and shoot your dog, it is legal in the county BUT MUST be done humanely and they should also be buried. We fault the owner for not ensuring he passed and not being prepared for a burial site. If he had done this, Buck would have never suffered. Because the euthanizing by shooting was unsuccessful Buck suffered tremendously. No charges will be pressed, but we will ensure that the rest of Bucks days are lived laying in the sunshine and being pampered, as he already is being pampered at our vets. His every need is being met and will always be met, whether he has a month or a year, he will be cared for. Any other donations beyond what Buck will need will go towards all the other animals that come into our care that are tragically thrown away, abused, neglected, and forgotten. Thank you each and every one of you for your support of this beautiful boy Buck. We will do our best to make his golden years peaceful.

We at Whispurring Hope Rescue believe the life of an animal is more precious than gold, we give endless love and care to throw a way’s and the forgotten. If an animal is walking, eating, drinking, sleeping, and going potty, his life is not ready to end, Bucks story and will to live says it all. Whether he has a month, or a year left he will always be remembered for not giving up and having the strength and courage to make that walk to a human for help. He will be cared for until his last breath and because of his strength, funds raised on his behalf will cover all his vet bills and everything he will need for the rest of his days, overflow of funds will be used on other precious lives that came before him and will cover those yet to come. It seems everyday animals are coming in with great needs and we never turn emergent care away for stray animals. Please support our cause and Honor Buck with your donations and uplifting messages to him. We will accept all donations on his behalf. More information about Whispurring Hope Animal Rescue:
Our mission since 2013 is to save animals that are lost, abandoned, sick, injured or struggling to survive on their own or tragically thrown away, abused, neglected, and forgotten. We go above and beyond 24/7. We are an onsite rescue, we search for animals seen running and hiding, we trap them, bring them to safety and hopefully find their owners, if not we get them all the help, they need to live out their lives and find them the perfect forever homes.
