Help Us Rebuild LIMCA-King Pan Temple

Hi friends, it is with a heavy heart that I am reaching out to you. Several months ago, our beloved King Pan Temple was severely damaged and due to unforeseen circumstances, we are lacking the funds needed to make the repairs.  With that in mind, I’m raising money for Lao Iu Mien Culture Association Inc (LIMCA). Any donation will help rebuild the King Pan Buddha Light Palace.  On June 9th, 2020, the front porch of our King Pan temple collapsed unexpectedly.  Unfortunately, our insurance company refuses to cover the damage, and there are no resources to cover the repair costs. If these repairs are not done, not only are we losing a community center, we are losing an entire support system for our Iu Mien community in the Bay Area and abroad. Built in 2008, King Pan Temple is first of its kind in the United States. Situated in the heart of our Iu Mien community in the Bay Area, our center serves more than 30 thousand community members. This poignant temple has become a hub of community activities across the nation and internationally.  In addition to being the glue that holds our Iu Mien communities together, King Pan Temple is also a place of worship to honor our forefather King Pan, ancestors, deities, Bodhisattvas, and Buddhas. This year would have been our 25th Annual King Pan Festival but due to COVID-19, we have cancelled the celebration, for the first time since 1996. In lieu of the festival, we are launching this fundraiser effort and asking for your support to help us restore the building so we can re-open the doors and hold our King Pan festival when it’s safe to do so.
