Jack's Kenya Expedition 2026 - Camps International
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jack and I am hoping to raise £6000 to fund my school expedition to Kenya in the summer of 2026. I will be in Kenya for 4 weeks travelling around three majorly deprived parts of the country organised through Camps International (A social enterprise with philanthropic goals which organises sustainable student travel that aims to create a positive impact on the planet).
Kenya is one of the poorest countries in the world with one of the lowest life expectancies of 61. Over 10.6 million people living in Kenya fall into the category of extreme poverty which, as a direct result, causes a high percentage of deaths.
I will be sleeping for the 4 weeks in very basic tents and huts, immersing myself in local life which will widen my perspective into the way different communities across the world function. During my expedition I will be contributing to meaningful community development and environmental conservation initiatives.
The work I will be involved in will directly benefit the community for the long-term: whether it be helping to build schools, constructing houses or installing wells - which provide clean water to communities, my input will change the locals’ lives, one day at a time. Furthermore, the work I will be doing fits with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development goals which aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
Any donations are greatly appreciated, thank you.
Jack :)
