Our Mission
The Impossible Dream, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is a universally designed wheelchair accessible catamaran. Her barrier-free design allows disabled and able-bodied sailors to challenge their limitations by working together to sail the boat. In addition to giving members of the disabled community the opportunity to experience sailing, the Impossible Dream participates in international sailing regattas to raise awareness of her mission.

The Race
This spring, the Impossible Dream will embark on the Regata del Sol al Sol 50th anniversary race from St. Petersburg, Florida to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. She will be crewed by a team of individuals with varying disabilities, who will complete the 452-mile journey between April 26 and May 6, 2018. The rigorous journey will consist of multiple days of non-stop racing against 30+ large vessels. Once in Isla Mujeres, Impossible Dream will participate in community outreach and provide sails to disabled individuals in the area.

The Costs
We need your help to make Impossible Dream's participation in the race a reality. There are many expenses associated with participating in an international regatta and all donations will go towards race registration fees, docking, flights, fuel, accommodations, community engagement, and the costs to provide free sails in Mexico. With your support, we will be able to bring accessible sailing to the international stage and change perceptions of the unlimited possibilities available to disabled communities around the globe.
