Import DPS Hurricane Relief Fund

Donation protected
As many of you know, Puerto Rico suffered from one of the most devastating hurricanes to hit the island since 1928. Currently 100% of the population is without electricity and it's going to take 6-12 months to restore power to the entire island. Many people have lost their homes and are in desperate need of help.

As you probably already know, this tragedy hits close to home for us.  My parents and grand parents were born and raised in Puerto Rico and my siblings and I spent our summer and Christmas breaks there.  To make matters worse, my grandfather became very ill a few days before the Hurricane hit and passed away in the hospital on Thursday, September 21st.

Javier Ortiz, my father and myself Jamie Ortiz, along with our family and friends, decided that we needed to do something to help and established a collection center at Import DPS, headquartered and operated in North Phialdelphia on Thursday. What we thought would be one 53 foot container full of goods and water has become 250 pallets of water and an entire warehouse full of goods. Due to the tremendous outpouring of love and support through donations, we decided we could no longer accept donation items because we ran out of space.

Since we no longer have the space, we are now accepting monetary donations to cover the cost of the shipping containers to ship these donations to Puerto Rico. We have contacted everyone we possibly could to see who would be willing to cover the cost of shipping and have been unsuccessful, so we've decided to raise our goal to $25K in order to cover the cost of the shipping containers, shipping the items and transporting them once they arrive to Puerto Rico.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me or Import DPS.

We at Import DPS are forever grateful for all the love and support we received from our team, our family, our friends and the entire community who volunteered their time to help us in this cause. God Bless you all and God Bless Puerto Rico. Our island is strong and resilient, we will rise again, together, as one.

Thank you. ❤️
