The Dian Fossey Fund has been making strides in saving the mountain gorillas since 1967. When Dian began her mission, there were almost no gorillas left in the world. In the 1980’s, The Fossey Fund helped to increase the gorilla population to 240. Today, almost 50 years later, there are now 1004 mountain gorillas in existence.

Through the massive efforts of The Dian Fossey Fund, continuing efforts have worked, however the work remains vitally important to ensuring the future of our Mountain Gorillas.

A permanent home was the ONE THING that The Dian Fossey Fund and her Gorilla mission was missing for the last 40 years since Dian’s untimely death. Ellen has stepped forward creating The Ellen Fund, to carry on with her childhood hero’s legacy. It was her way to give the Gorillas a permanent home in Rwanda and to help ensure their future within our World.

She now joins Dian as a protector and a champion of the mountain gorillas, and we are asking for you to partner along with us!!!!
