I’m just looking out for my father
My name is Clifton Draghine II, I’ve come to realize that I can not fulfill my wish for my father with out help financially. That is me with my father, Clifton Draghine. My father became a diabetic in his 30’s and has been battling it for 25+ years now. For the last three years he has been fighting even harder. He is now struggling with kidney failure with only 13% usage of his kidneys. Currently on dialysis from home he’s been blessed to live a somewhat normal day life but abnormal night life. Night time is when he takes his treatments, so there is no need to take it during the day.
No child wants to see their parents struggle when they have done their job to take care of you. You will always do your best to return that same love. My goal is to purchase a new and upgraded machine for his treatment. His current one works fine I guess, but it’s loud and causes a good amount of discomfort leading to no sleep. He was given a trial run with the new machine and it made a huge difference to him. The equipment cost $2997 , so I set a goal of $5000 to cover this cost and another request. He is an owner of a 1965 Buick Skylark Special in need of a lot of TLC.
The extra money will be put towards restoring this car for him, as he has not driven this car since 1998. His car was hit by another while it was parked. I want to get him driving his baby again. I also enjoyed my time with this car growing up. It has been apart of my life since I was 5. Next to his family and large collection of music, his car has always been his pride and joy.
If this is truly his last stretch in life, I want him to go as happy and comfortable as possible. Both my parents are retired. At least my father was forced into his retirement with health. What ever funds they are getting is covering their bills and mortgage. I cannot afford to help financially, my situation isn’t the greatest either. I’m an on-site caretaker, married with kids. I pay a portion of rent here and to cover it I run instacart w my wife to cover rent and other bills. I’m also a college student with a year left to graduate. I have lived a life where I don’t ask for anything. I truly can not do this on my own and have realized that I do need help.
Anything donated is appreciated. I will truly be grateful thank you in advance.
