Hi, my name is Katherine Cockle (Kate), I'm a doing a sponsored 2 mile swim (thats 128 lengths in a 25 metre pool) on the 13th March 2025, to raise funds for someone who has massively inspired and shaped my love of animals and conservation. Dr Emma Stone has worked tirelessly to conserve bats and large mammals in the UK and Malawi in Africa. Anyone that knows me will know how much the opportunity to work in Africa meant to me and it's not an understatement to say it shaped my passion for field work and bats in the UK. Emma was diagnosed with a rare neuroendocrine cancer in 2024 and needs to travel to Houston Texas to explore treatment options. She is pictured in the profile picture with her two young boys aged 7 and 11 and her husband Richard. I hope that anything I can raise will help her family get through the next few months.
