IM 70.3 World's South Africa

People often ask me "how did you get into triathlons?" To which I reply "I have no godly idea!" I was never an athlete growing up. In fact, my family jokes about me being the Rainbow Ribbon Kid for the rainbow-colored participation ribbons that I would get for summer league swim meets. It wasn't until college that I discovered my passion in the world of multisport.
Fast forward 3 years: my training and racing are better than ever, and I'm getting faster with every race. At my most recent half Ironman in Raleigh, NC, I placed first in my age group, qualifying me for the half Ironman world championships in South Africa. While the timing of the event (September 1&2, 2018) is perfect, as it is right before I may have to temporarily put my triathlon training and ambitions on the back burner for a Master's degree, the funds are not entirely doable. This may be a small window for me to really figure out if my dreams of going pro in this sports are possible. Any donation to help me afford travel and hotel expenses are extremely appreciated.
