Ilyas's Nursing School Fees
In April, I was waitlisted for nursing school. I started a GoFundMe in the past with a goal of $3500 to clear the debt I had incurred after extenuating circumstances left me without a home for quite a while. The GoFundMe succeeded by an incredible amount, going $500 over the goal, with the remaining money being used to pay off credit balances and people I owed in the past. I pretty much cried that entire week.
Then another amazing thing happened: I was finally offered a position off the waitlist to my dream nursing school. However, the amount of fees I must pay off before August are beyond my financial capability at this point in time. Because I was offered admission off the waitlist, I had even less time to gather the funds necessary to pay it off. I have two remaining paychecks from student employment that I hope to use in tandem with this campaign to finally make ends meet.
Although the total amount of money required to pay off all school fees is only around $1500, GoFundMe takes a percentage of the money. I am accounting for books, transportation, uniforms, housing, credit, personal debts, and tuition with this campaign. I do not want to take more than I already have because I still feel heavily indebted and massive gratitude from the last campaign.
If the donations go over the goal, half of the funds will go to a charity, and the other half will be invested for living expenses in Springfield. I constantly pray for the happiness of everyone who took their time to make the last campaign succeed, and I apologize because the last campaign was supposed to be my only one. I was encouraged by a special friend to use my support network and I intend on doing that as much as I can before I leave Chicago for two years.
Thank you guys for everything.
