Ein Neues Jahr hat begonnen und ich möchte es sogleich mit einem Projek starten, das mir sehr am Herzen liegt. Die Auswirkungen der infernalischen Buschbrände in Australien brechen mir das Herz. Über ein Jahr bin ich durch dieses großartige Land gereist und habe definitiv ein Stück meines Herzens dort verloren. Nur schwer kann ich mir die Zerstörungen und das Leid für Mensch und Tier vorstellen. Und so habe ich nur einen Gedanken: WIE KANN ICH HELFEN?
Vor über zehn Jahren habe ich ein Buch, eine Kindergeschichte über die Abenteuer des Kängurus 'Joey' geschrieben und illustriert. Da ich sehr selbstkritisch mit meiner Arbeit bin, ist sie damals in einer Schublade verschwunden. Angesichts der Zustände in Australien habe ich beschlossen, dass genau jetzt der richtige Zeitpunkt ist, mein Buch zu veröffentlichen. Gerade arbeite ich an neuen Illustrationen und feile an dem Text. So schnell wie möglich möchte ich das Buch veröffentlichen. Ein großer Teil des Erlöses wird den Opfern der Buschfeuer zugute kommen.

Eine Illustration aus diesem Buch möchte ich nun hier vorab anbieten. Sie ist auf ein A3 Format gedruckt, handsigniert und limitiert auf 100 Stück. Der Druck erfolgte umweltfreundlich mit Farben ohne Mineralölgehalt auf aus Gras hergestelltem Papier. Wer sich an der Aktion beteiligen möchte und einen Betrag über € 33,95 spendet, der erhält eine der Illustrationen. Mein gesamter Erlös wird Wires Wildlifecare in New South Wales zugute kommen.

A new year has started and I want to start it right away with a project that is very close to my heart. The effects of the infernal bush fires in Australia break my heart. I've traveled through this great country for over a year and definitely lost a piece of my heart there. I can hardly imagine the destruction and suffering for humans and animals. And so I have only one thought: HOW CAN I HELP? Over ten years ago I wrote and illustrated a book, a children's story about the adventures of the kangaroo 'Joey'. Like I am very self-critical with my work, it disappeared into a drawer at the time. Cause by the situation in Australia, I decided now is the right time to publish my book. I am currently working on new illustrations and on the text. I would like to publish the book as soon as possible. A large part of the proceeds will go to the victims of the bushfires.
