Hi Everyone,

My name is Austin Edmonson and I am a recent UC Davis Sociology graduate. I am teaming up with a passionate group of women in STEM to develop a networking opportunity aimed at introducing STEM careers to young women in the LA area.

We want to invite middle school and high school girls to a screening of the movie "Hidden Figures", followed by a panel discussion and networking event. The release of “Hidden Figures” offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the power and contributions of women, particularly women of color, in STEM.

One of the most effective ways to spark interest in STEM careers is to connect young women with mentors to whom they can relate. Our goal is to inspire and engage young women, grooming them to become the next generation of leaders in STEM. With the collaboration, determination, and ingenuity of our team of industry professionals, this event will help young minority women launch their dreams into orbit.

We want to be as transparent as possible to show you exactly what your contribution will help fulfill:

Event Space: $100
Ticket Price (Per Person): $12.50 x 80 = $1000
Supplies for Post-Screening Discussion (including food): $8.50 x 80 = $680

Estimated Theatre Total: $1780.00

If we surpass this goal, additional funds will go to expanding the participant base.
