Christmas is fast approaching and we on the Illuminate South Sligo committee are excited to say that this Christmas our town is getting a make over and we will have some amazing new Christmas lights. It is over a decade since the lights have been upgraded so we think you will all agree this is long over due and we hope you are as excited as we are.
In total there will be over 60 light features including a spectacular 5 meter tall Christmas tree, two nativity scenes, street lighting and many more.
Due to health and safety regulations the wiring and fuse boards must also be upgraded and this too comes at a cost. A huge amount of work has been done behind the scenes which started on the 6th of January this year. We have secured a grant from Sligo leader to fund the lights, however we as a community have a contribution of €13,555 to raise and we are asking for your help to reaching this goal, we will be appealing to all our local business, clubs and community groups to donate but as we are sure you will understand these lights are for the whole community, donations of any size are welcome and appreciated.

Donations can be made through our go fund me page or if you wish to make a cash donation it can be dropped into the Tourist information office on Humbert Street. If anyone would like to contribute with a cheque payment, the cheque can be made payable to "Innovation Tubbercurry" and this too can be left into the tourist information office.
Many of us have family member abroad who unfortunately wont make it home this Christmas, if your living over seas why not let your family back home know you are thinking of them this holiday season by donating and leaving a message on our page.
