Love of my life

The love of my life, David has been diagnosed with a lung tumor that is growing rapidly.  He has never smoked.  As of right now, we do not know if it is malignant or not, but we do know that he has to have a portion or all of a lung removed.  This will happen in the next 2-3 weeks.  For most of our time together for the last 30 years, he has worked out of town as a contract worker in various locations in the United States.   Because he is a contract worker, he is not eligible for FMLA to protect his job and there is no guarantee he will have a job to come back to.  He does not receive a paycheck during the 4-6 weeks he will be out.  He is applying for STD but if he loses his job, that goes away.  His recovery time is at least 30 days, plus an addition 1-2 weeks for the final testing, Dr. interviews, consultations.  Because he is our breadwinner, we need help with expenses during this time for prescriptions and household expenses so we do not lose everything we worked so hard for.  Our insurance is a high deductible plan and he has met most if not all of it because of this issue and other issues.  We are still paying out on those medical bills, including mine which I have not yet met my deductible.  My salary does not begin to remotely cover our household expenses.  We have exhausted all of our other savings.  

The financial burden we are facing is difficult for the both us, but especially David.  We need to focus on his healing and, hopefully getting back to work in the near future.  

We need to begin receiving funds as quickly as possible so we don't get behind on bills.
