Katie's Crafts for Sick Teens

Donation protected
I hope to raise money to start a program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital called “Katie's Crafts". Katie Lohre was a beautiful 17 year old girl and senior at Dixie Heights H.S.  who died on December 7, 2014 after a yearlong battle with leukemia. Katie loved to craft and helped the Child Life Specialists at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) room by providing ideas of activities and crafts that sounded Interesting for teens. Katie always participated in the activities and crafts that were offered and provided valuable feedback. She gifted many of her completed projects and is the "face" of the AYA room. According to the Child Life Specialists, "These projects not only enhance the teen room in which they are exhibited, but they inspire current and future patients to engage in creative craft outlets." Examples of her gifted work are shown below.
Teen and young adult patients will be able to "pin" an art project or craft they would like to complete on a special Pinterest page. Volunteers will assemble the materials and provide an instruction sheet needed for each project. The pledged money will be used to purchase all of the materials needed for 75-100 individual projects. Please help me honor Katie Lohre by helping her legacy at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to continue.
