Nara's Memorial Stone

On January 22, 2015 our family was delivered devastating news that we had lost my younger brother while he was touring Asia. To this day we still have not received any answers as to what happened, why it happened and who are the ones responsible for his passing. And how could this happen at an international airport?

He was only 28 years old, traveling to the areas to experience our family background and culture. It has now been months since the incident. The pain of losing him, missing him, and the injustice of his death still lives with our family and always will. The pain never does go away...we learn how to hide it better. Our family of five is now four and feels empty each and every single day. He leaves behind a fiance, our mother, father, and our youngest brother.

He was an honours graduate from York University in Toronto, ON Canada. Family was most important in his life. He would tell mom that his goal was to help people around the world. He loved life, he loved family and he had his whole life ahead of him. He grew up to be a most remarkable young man.

We do not have the resources or means to hire an investigator or a lawyer to handle a case that has occurred outside of our country; as our Canadian government, foreign affairs, embassy and RCMP have made it evident,  we have NO rights, protection or jurisdiction to get the justice that ANY family deserves. How can a developed country that is to be proud of upholding human rights have no methods of protecting these rights outside of our country. A Canadian dies overseas and we have no means of getting to the truth. We continue our fight to finding the truth but yet the harsh reality is that we do not have much hope without legal advice/action.

Mom cries endless tears everyday and nothing anyone does or says can help take away the pain of losing a child. Dad is lost in emotions. My youngest brother, at the age of 17, has had to lay his older brother into the ground. We waited a long and painful 3 weeks before we finally received his body back home and waited 45 days for an autopsy report...that still does not give us any answers. A mother, father and family should never have to go through the torment, heart break and devastation that we continue to endure. How are we supposed to let go of a fight that we may have already lost....how are my parents going to live with the pain and unanswered questions...all we ask is for the truth.

We do not yet have a memorial stone prepared due to the cost and we are in the midst of planning his 100 day Buddhist Ceremony that we must have in May 2015. I would like to start this fund raiser on behalf of my parents, in hopes of easing the ceremonial and memorial costs, and the possibility of receiving legal assistance in pursuit of an investigation.

We thank you so much for your generous donations. We hope and pray that someone out there may help us in our fight to find truth and justice.
