"The Sweetest Boy On Earth "

Last Monday evening, my nephew, Jaxon Ray, had a horrible bicycle accident where he sustained a skull fracture and severe brain bleed. My sister-in-law, Jodi Ray, summed up the details of Jaxon's accident so well we decided to use it here in our Go Fund Me request.

The Sweetest Boy On Earth
"If you know Jaxon, then you know how kind and caring he is. He is able to connect with both adults and kids and pretty much considers everyone a friend. What you might not know is how close we came to losing him after his bicycle accident last Monday evening. It seemed like nothing at first, just the usual bumps and scrapes you'd expect any active kid to get after a bicycle wreck. We really thought he was fine. We were so terribly wrong. After symptoms started to show, we decided to take him to the ER in Lawrence where they did a CAT scan. It revealed a severe brain bleed and they immediately arranged to fly him over to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for emergency surgery. The moments waiting for the helicopter to arrive were pure hell and will haunt me for the rest of my life. We begged him not to leave us and prayed harder than I knew was possible. Our prayers were answered that night. We were fortunate enough to have a team of top notch nurses, doctors, and surgeons on our side. Everyone involved that night that has witnessed his miraculous recovery has mentioned how lucky we are to have him here. I have aged 1,000 years and gained 1,000 years of knowledge. I now know what is REALLY imortant  in life. So much healing has come from this tragic event. I've always been a professional at sweating the small stuff. My goal is to focus on the good, love with all of my might, and let the rest go. Thank you to all our family and friends for throwing massive amounts of love our way."

Jodi and her husband, Kendall, have not been able to work since the accident because they keep an around the clock presence at Jaxon's bedside. His recovery will be slow and we have every reason to believe he will make a full recovery. Jaxon will have to do rehab all summer after he gets home. In the meantime, the bills will add up.  The money you so generously give will go towards paying those bills, especially for the life flight to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Any money left over after these expenses are met will be used to promote helmet safety and provide helmets to children. "If you know Jaxon", then you already know what a passionate advocate he will be!

Thank you so very much for your donation!
